YAMAHA FUTUREBEAT CONTEST 2018

#FUTUREBEAT is back and looking for drumming stars of the future.

Yamaha Drums is delighted to invite entries for 2018’s #FUTUREBEAT. In its 3rd year, this ground-breaking national competition offers drummers aged between 13 – 18 years old a fantastic array of prizes and unique performance opportunities to showcase those funky beats and lightning-fast fills.

To enter, all you need to do is simply film yourself playing Drums, upload the video to a streaming platform – then send the link via email along with your details to futurebeat@drummersonly.co.uk. It’s that easy!

Judges will be looking for Jaw dropping grooves, stand out timing and terrific technique.

The Scottish Regional Final will take place at Drummers Only on Monday, 10th September 2018 from 7:30pm.

From the video submissions, 64 promising drummers will be selected to perform live at 8 Regional Finals across the UK. These drummers will play 2 Songs in front of audiences comprising family, friends and members of the general public. Judges will decide on the winning drummer who will win a Yamaha Snare Drum and a place in the Grand Finals at Yamaha Music UK Headquarters in Milton Keynes.

Grand Finalists will receive mentoring sessions with some of the country’s leading professional drummers and have the chance to perform with a professional band, in front of an eminent judging panel who will decide the overall #FUTUREBEAT ’18 winner. They will be presented with a Yamaha Tour Custom series drum kit and also perform live at the prestigious London Drum Show thanks to a new partnership with Rhythm Magazine.

#FUTUREBEAT has become highly acclaimed by drummers and the drum industry which has previously attracted over 500 entries, showcasing over 100 of the UK’s most talented young drummers in Live Regional performances. Partnered by Yamaha Drum Dealers throughout the UK with support by Professional Drum Artists Steve White (Style Council, Paul Weller, The Who), Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse, Laura Mvula), Donavan Hepburn (Take That, E.L.O) & Andrew Small (Kylie, Massive Attack) who have all previously dedicated their time to support up and coming drummers with private mentoring sessions.
