Meinl Cymbals has kicked off 2025 with an impressive array of new cymbal models, expanding their popular Byzance, Pure Alloy, and Classics Custom series.
Byzance Series
- Byzance Traditional Extra Hammered Ride: Available in 22in and 24in sizes, these rides offer a complex tonal character with enhanced stick definition and a dark, earthy wash.
- Byzance Traditional Extra Thin Hammered Crash: Offered in 16in and 18in sizes, these crashes provide a quick response with a warm, shimmering decay, ideal for dynamic playing.
- Byzance Traditional 15in Extra Hammered Hi-Hats:
These hats have a light top cymbal with steep bow and heavy standard shape bottom provides strong stick and foot control with clear response. A great blend of definition and warmth – medium-thin in weight. - Byzance Traditional 20in Polyphonic Ride:
This 20in ride rapidly responds when crashed and fully opens when wash riding. A raw and big-sized bell features a clear, dry sound. - Byzance Brilliant Thomas Lang Signature 21in Flex Ride: Designed in collaboration with Thomas Lang, this cymbal combines a brilliant finish with a flexible feel, providing versatility for various musical styles.
- Byzance Vintage Benny Greb 18in Quick Sand Ride:
This signature ride is influenced by iconic jazz and funk cymbal sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s. This is a small but heavy ride – modeled after repurposed (and often repaired) symphonic cymbals players typically used during that period. The ‘sound notch’ (yes, it’s supposed to have a bit missing!) and sandblasted surface give the Quick Sand Ride that modified, pre-aged character with impeccable clarity, control, and complex tone
Pure Alloy Series
- Pure Alloy Extra Hammered China: The 18in Extra Hammered China delivers a darker, more complex tonal palette while maintaining clarity and projection.
- Pure Alloy Extra Hammered Trash Crash: This 18in cymbal offers a unique, trashy sound suitable for accenting and adding character to your setup.
- Pure Alloy Benny Greb Signature 14in Quick Sand Hi-Hats: Developed with Benny Greb, these hi-hats provide a crisp, articulate response with a smooth, sandy character.
Classics Custom Series
- Classics Custom Dark Ride: The 24in Dark Ride features a special finishing process that enhances its dark, rich tones, providing a powerful ride option for both live and studio settings.
