Rest in Power, Taylor Hawkins
Perhaps most well known as the drummer for the rock juggernauts, Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins built quite the career for himself. Before the days of blowing the roof off stadiums, Taylor was a side-man for the likes of Alanis Morrisette along with several others before joining the Foos, where he remained until his extremely unexpected and tragic passing.
We check out 5 times that Taylor rocked the house down!
Taylor Hawkins Drum Solo Hyde Park (2006)
Taylor absolutely SHREDDING to an 85,000 strong audience at Hyde Park back in 2006.
I’m glad it was him in the chair, and not me.
We all love a good ol’ fashioned drum-off between two icons. That being said, pretty sure we’d all feel threatened going up against Dave Grohl…even if your name is Taylor Hawkins
Back in his “side-man” days, here’s Taylor laying it down with the Alanis Morrisette classic, You Oughta Know!
As if performing a drum solo to a massive crowd isn’t frightening enough, imagine doing it while also being hoisted up 30 feet in the air. Taylor channelling his inner Tommy Lee vibes in this one!
Perhaps the most famous Foo Fighters song ever. Although Taylor didn’t play on the original record, he absolutely SMASHES it with this fantastic live rendition!
Real talk. I’m a HUGE Foo Fighters fan. I have been fortunate enough to see them live twice, and watching Taylor play the hits of my youth note for note behind the greatest drummer turned frontman in history was quite an experience! The drumming community lost one of the most influential drummers in our generation. We send much love and condolences to his family.
