This kit has been doing the rounds across our social media since it arrived in the store, and there’s a reason why. Quite simply…this kit is incredible. It’s LOUD (not just in appearance), the projection and power that comes from this kit is truly unique and the fact this is the only one of it’s kind available in the UK makes it that bit more special. It’s Pink Acrylic. Why? Because why NOT?!
The shells are Reinforced Seam Molded Acrylic, which basically means the seam holding the drum together is reinforced with an extra layer of (pink) acrylic to prevent cracking. It has 45-degree inner bearing edges with a slight outer bevel so these drums are packed full of tone and attack. With highlights being the classic bass drum spurs, silver sparkle inlay on the bass drum hoop and the coveted 70’s vintage blue/olive badges, it’s no surprise this quickly became a shop favourite.

FAB Sizes
The configuration is known as FAB; 13×9 Tom, 16×16 Floor Tom and a 22×14 Bass Drum. The shallow bass drum gives it plenty of thump without the need of dampening like you’d typically need from a 22×18. Combined with the rock-sized toms it creates such a powerful sound that it’s almost impossible not to smile while you’re playing it. The chrome CS Dot batter heads by Remo add that little bit extra bling to solidify this kit as a classic.

Swiss-Army Kit
Some Acrylic shells in the past have been criticized for having a dry tone, but the shells on the Vistalite Pink are definitely NOT dull. These drums are FULL of tone and distinguishable character. There’s a reason Bonham preferred Acrylic shells over wood, and that’s because they give such solid projection and attack while remaining musical. These are even the drums of choice for a lot of recording engineers in a studio environment. Versatility is what every drummer needs for their arsenal so having that “Swiss army knife” kit that handles both live and studio sessions in the one package is a MAJOR advantage.

Real Talk…
The Ludwig Vistalite Pink is a kit that captures the classic sound and integrity of Ludwig while at the same time, it dares to be different with what could be considered a polarizing appearance. What you see is what you get. It’s loud exterior coupled with it’s powerful rich sound due to it’s interior make it sound familiar, but unique. Unique is the best way to describe it as it’s the only one of it’s kind available in the UK. If you want to make a lasting statement for all the right reasons, both sonically and physically (and just so happen to like the colour pink), you might have just found what you’re looking for…providing I don’t buy it first!
